Yet Another Scam Facebook Dislike Button

Recently a new scam has emerged in Facebook, now this is more sophisticated since it appeared as original Facebook application-The Fake Dislike Button. There are a number of variations of this scam, which sees users unwillingly update their Facebook status encouraging others to get the “official Dislike button”.Due to its emergence now Facebook users around the globe has urged for official dislike button by which they can put their comments on user posts and updates.

The spread: Sophos has discovered two versions of the scam, which involve the sharing of messages with the text:

One goes like this “I just got the Dislike button, so now I can dislike all of your dumb posts lol!! LINK”
The second goes like this “Get the official DISLIKE button NOW! – LINK”

This Viral scam is similar to most recent survey scams which links fools users and accumulates and give access their profile. More than this the danger degrees goes up since this application sends links of the same from user profile to all the members which he/she has in their friend’s list. As next step of spam the application asks users to fill the surveys (from this application) for full and clean access of this button and when fulfilled scammers make huge money out of it. The huge success of this spam is its simple feature which deceives a user, since it doesn’t bring any awkward information like shocking videos or celebrity scandals. It comes as simple many fall prey. Users should be very careful before they click on any unknown link in a friend’s status update as these scams are becoming increasingly common.

    Many top tech blogs have already created such articles about Dislike button even uploaded manipulated image with a dislike button on Facebook profile! Must be a way to drive more traffic!

    Yes,but when they integrate malware and spam in these,they can cause real threat for our privacy and personal information
