Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor in short COFEE designed for and developed by a former Hong Kong police officer who is a senior investigator in Microsoft’s Internet Safety Enforcement Team. COFEE is only available for Law enforcement agencies whole over the world for free. Microsoft is providing a free technical support for COFEE.

Easiness in use, faster result and automation makes this tool outstanding. An officer with no expertise can run this tool and gather information while the cybercrime investigation. The tool is a package of 150 Microsoft Commands which can be customized to run from a USB drive to gather the information such as gathering the internet activity, stored data on a computer, decrypt passwords etc. Using the automated tool you can gather the information within 20 minutes which was taking 2 or 3 hours before.

COFEE has become very popular in April 2008 were it helped to find most critical information in a Child Pornography case in new Zealand which lead to an arrest. Later that in April 2009 Microsoft and INTERPOL signed an agreement that INTERPOL will hold the authority to distribute COFFEE for the Law enforcement agencies worldwide. Then in September 2009 it leaked on to the internet.
