Among the most competitive markets in the world is the iPhone application industry and in being so personified it is a haven and menace to many. With hundreds of thousands of apps up on retail, a couple of other hundred thousands for free and a similar number in the works to be released sometime in the future, it becomes somewhat difficult to enter these waters and net a promising catch.

The fact that everyone has to start from zero and that there is now ay one can get ahead in such tough competition or that it is way too difficult and slow to do so discourages newcomers into this field. Setting all these factors is one piece of information; it’s the market demand for applications that is enough to kick start your wheel of revenue.
What with all the readymade options available to users and easy to obtain technology used in the construction of iPhone apps? Surely one should not miss such opportunities and get on with it. After all it does not need an expert developer to create an app when all of the above are provided for. To start designing, creating then pushing our product (application) to the masses simply follow the procedure highlighted below.

Get Creative
Necessarily before starting off a development project, there is a lot of thinking and imagination involved. Normally something unique is the key to succeeding in a market spree of competitors all aiming to gain attention. Before starting the creation you would have to choose a niche. Then one can think of what a customer wants most and then working on it. If the choices are limited take the concept of one current application and give what you think overcomes its flaws or would make a better alternative.

Who are those up against you?
Onto the next step; this is where you learn the competition to your sphere and app. The more the competition there is the more difficult it would be to present your app. To start off you can simply choose a category with high rate of acceptance and minimum competition. However if you intend on going big and choosing that niche with major competition, you might have to work hard enough to come up with an unparalleled application.

Get your toolkit to the workbench

When starting off to create apps, one must have substantial knowledge of the tools involved and which software to would make your app more appealing. Evidently they are not for free and before you go buying off something inherent research is necessary. Visit developer forums and websites to find out what type of tools and methods would fit the style and design process. Remember with the right tools in hand it is never too difficult to create software.

Start designing!

You can be able to this all by yourself or you can hire some experienced or developers to accompany you on your mission of creation.

Advertise your App

After the production period has gone through and the app is finally coming to shape, start advertising it. Get it onto the tabloids, blogs, and news or get some big wig site to sponsor you so that your baby would get enough exposure on release day. The marketing does not finish here, after the app is out of the pipe and in the app store, there is also a large amount of marketing involved.

Facebook is coming up with more ideas to stay on first place in Social Network. As a part of that strategy they have created a dedicated application for messaging on Facebook. The Facebook social app released for the devices were not doing so good when it comes to messaging. But the Facebook dedicated messenger app released is able to fill that gap. The chatting app works on real time as you experience on the Gtalk.

The app has got a simple and clean design also it supports multiple user messaging and locations mapping etc. Hopefully we can expect a video calling feature on the Facebook messenger. Currently the Facebook Messenger app got support for all the IOS 4.0 above devices and Android devices.

Image Courtesy : Apple App Store

Bottom Line

The app loading time is good it works well. But this app lacks some kind of settings for customizing online/offline users display. I feel the app is missing some basic chat functionalities. For me the app looks like the chat side bar you see on your Facebook page!

Download your Facebook Messenger app for IOS and Android

iTunes is known to be as a best tool for managing music. The music quality while using iTunes is better than any other players available in its class also the easy music organizing capabilities had made it iTunes the favorite of any average computer user. iTunes often crash because of various reasons and it is quite hard to fix the installation after that. We have used Byetunes to remove the corrupted iTunes installation files also. But in some cases even that too had failed in fixing up the iTunes. Then the only option left in hand is a re-installation of the operating system. That can wipe of your custom playlist created on your iTunes as well.

But once DoubleTwist is installed it will scan the iTunes playlists and load it in your DoubleTwist Media manager window and let you easily synchronize it with your Android Phone, iPhone and Blackberry. Good thing is while syncing the playlists from the iTunes it does not duplicates the music files in your computer. It can also automatically import your Windows Media Player playlists as well.

Infact DoubleTwist has multiple roles!

• It can be used as an iTunes to manage and synchronize media to your iPhone or iPods
• It can be used as a universal media syncing device to variety of smartphones.
• It can be used to easily download the Youtube videos to Mp4 format.
• You can search and buy music from Amazon MP3 store.
• It has an inbuilt Android Market browser.

For Android devices there is an app is available called AirSync which will helps to synchronize the playlist to the Android phones without connecting the mobile to the computers. It does it wirelessly using your home Wi-Fi connection.

DoubleTwist has support for PC and Mac

It’s completely hassle free copying music, videos and images to and from an iPod to a Computer. iPod is knows to be the best portable media player but over a period of time we will lose interest on it because of the music synchronizing music to it. Because Apple made it so proprietary and you will require their media player called iTunes to sync the music files to the iPod. ITunes is not so flexible as it won’t let you synchronize your device from multiple computers. Cannot extract music files from iPod if it’s connected to a new computer. Can’t add more media files if you wanted to add it from a 2nd computer. You will have to always depend one computer to synchronize the media files.

That’s why I said over a period of time you will start hating your iPod when you don’t want to follow this practice. So for such users SharePod will be a solution to do the above tedious tasks to do in a simple way. SharePod comes as a freeware and it’s a lite and tiny application.

SharePod’s features

• You can add/Remove Media files from your iPod
• You can Add/Edit playlists and album art
• View and backup Images
• Copy Any media to PC from iPod
• Import media files to ITunes library without losing the personalized data
• It support Tag editing and Drag and drops.

SharePod is claiming the full support for iPhone and iTouch. When I try my iPhone SharePod was able to detect the device and explore the contents but importing to iPhone was not working on it.

Get Sharepod from here

Yes! it happened and I lost the complete address book wiped off from my iPhone. I will admit that it was careless and accidental address book synchronization with Microsoft Outlook has caused to get the phone’s address book wiped off. Synchronizing with Outlook is not a bad thing, because when you sync the phone address book gets saved on your Outlook profile. It is a good practice and that’s what I had followed. But iPhone has bad behavior (Not only iPhone almost all the apple handhelds) will only sync with one iTunes. So if you try to sync it with another iTunes on your different Notebook it will erase the data on the Mobile. (It even warned me that the data will get erased! But I didn’t pay attention and pressed OK).

I was bit worried because it matters when you lose your business contacts. But luckily I recollected that I had synced the recent address book with a Cloud solution named iDrive lite. It helped me to restore all the contacts as it is from the backup. Even it has a flexible interface that it will let you sync only few contacts if you want. So luckily I got my contacts restored!

Let’s drill down in to its features.

• An automatic backup will be taken once you install and login to the IDrive application from your Device
• Allows restoring the complete backed up contacts.
• Selected contacts can be restored.
• Clean state restore – Wipes your iPhone contacts data before restoring
• Allows you to restore from another iPhone, Blackberry or Android phones easily.
• Restores contacts from another IDrivelite account.
• Restores from earlier backup points.

Your contacts list on the IDrive server can be accessed and manipulated from here www.idrivelite.com
Compatibility: IDrive app is ready for Blackberry, iPhone and Android devices.

Make sure you use such devices and at least create one backup copy so that you can restore in such situations.

QR is a short form for Quick Response is a two dimension code readable by special QR code readers or a QR code reader application installed camera phone. QR code is more convenient than the old barcodes. It can store maximum of 7.089 characters of numeric codes or 4,296 alphanumeric codes so for embedding of more data is convenient with QR codes.

There lot of scope for QR codes in technology and I would like to share a quick tip for creating a next-gen business card using QR code. iPhone, Blackberry and Android smart phones has already QR code readers available in their respective app stores.

Creating a QR code with all your Business address is quickly possible with goqr.me

1) Go to the goqr.me website
2) Click on the vCard tab
3) Type in your Business card information.
4) Once you fill in all the fields it will generate the QR code on the right side.
5) Now your QR code is ready to be downloaded but you can use the Option to customize the QR code’s colour, margin, encoding method etc.
6) So once you are done you can download the QR code, by default it is saved in PNG format.

Here is my QR code enabled sample business card. Anyone with a QR reader app installed on their mobile can read all the information and save it as a contact on their mobile.

Read more about QR code in Wiki
