Is It Really Worth the Price?

It does have some new features which is the first of its kind in the mainstream tablet such as powerful multi-tasking where you can play a game in one window and run a video in another window, with both applications running concurrently. However the Motorola Xoom can handle this as well. The BlackBerry Playbook is an interesting anomaly for the slick interface, support for HDMI connection to play 1080p video and file storage capabilities. However it sorely lacks third-party applications and hands-on tests revealed that it definitely cannot compete with the Xoom or iPad 2 as well as compare poorly to the original Samsung Table, the Galaxy. This was supposed to be in the class of those tablets or even outclass the other tablets and the BlackBerry Playbook 16GB model comes in at the same price of the 16GB Apple iPad 2 at $500.
