Since the release of IOS 4.0 the iPhone is powered with Multitasking feature which is actually good in one way but not in that great in other way. Multitasking will let your applications running in the background (Not every applications are Multitasking supported) But whenever you open applications such as Messengers, Maps and GPS is going to be running on the background and consume the memory and the processor which is going to affect the phone’s performance and drain the battery because it will be keep on requesting for data update from the server.
Even if you exit out from the application by pressing the home button it will keep the application running on the background. The good thing regarding multitasking is launching an application will be faster once it was opened and running on the background.
We will see how to close the application completely and free up some phone resource.
1. Double Tap the Home screen to view the running applications on the background. (It is like a windows task manager)

2. Slide to left or right to see how many apps are currently active and running.
3. Now press on any apps for 2 seconds will give you option to clear the apps that are currently running.

Restarting the phone will also clear the memory, but hopefully this option will be easier than rebooting the phone!
