Huge Portion of Websites Hosted in Top 4 American Web Hosting Providers are Hacked!

A report from Websense Security labs revealed that websites hosted on top web hosting provider’ are hacked and injected with malicious PHP codes in to the compromised website. Websense Threatseeker network has detected mass injection attacks on the American webhosting companies called Bluehost, Dreamhost, Bizland and GoDaddy. It’s shameful news that that top security has compromised on these servers! When a user visit these compromised websites they will be redirected to a rouge Antivirus website and forced to download and install a setup file as per Virustotal the rouge antivirus is not effective.

Websense report says “According to our statistics, approximately 38% of the compromised sites in this campaign are hosting in Bluehost, and nearly 97% of the sites compromised by the attack are from the above four Web hosting companies.”

At present the networks secured with Websense Advanced Classification Engine will protect your network when users access such compromised websites.
