Using the new feature anybody can create a public BBM group and invite anyone who has a blackberry and share your interests! Remember one thing that, when you invite somebody from a group or when someone joins to your group they are only joining to the public group not to your buddy list. Before the group was limited only to private access and the groups were depends the individual interests and it was created from the buddy list of a BBM user for his/her convenience. In reality BBM was lacking this nice feature! A shared calendar can be used on the new BBM 5.0 just like you have it on your Microsoft Outlook (Exchange server environment) to share the appointments or events among the group members.

Creating a group on BBM 5.0 is pretty easy as it would only take less than two minutes. Once a group has been created, you can invite your friends from your buddy list or even you can post the group’s bar code on Twitter, Facebook or MySpace to invite more public on to your group. By scanning the bar code will allow the user to join the group.
