AVG research team has found out Eleonore Toolkit has infected more than 1.2 million PC users. These infected computers are monitored by Cyber criminals to exploit the Computer resources and to monitor the compromised PC.
Avg research team did a 2 month long research on 165 Eleonore toolkit which is used by Cyber bad guys and the result was shocking .They could infect a 10 percent of proportion of the 10 million domains. The attack strategy was simple ,Users were allowed to visit a infected website the domains were compromised with the given rate above.
The effect of the infection includes high volume of traffic which Cyber criminals managed to compromise. The research was built using AVG Link Scanner product data, identifying URLs that the product blocked when it identified a threat.
“The accessibility and sophistication of easy-to-use Cyber criminal toolkit proves that Cyber gangs are raising the bar to monetize their criminal activities,” said Yuval Ben-Itzhak, senior vice president, AVG Technologies.
Protection against the threat simply remains the same like updated Anti-virus ,firewall enabled machines but more than this is educating innocent users about basic knowledge about the Cyber security and measure that will make them resistant to these dangerous attacks.

Great info.
I am sure when you visit such links you should have a high level of protection with some advanced features like automatic link scanning. It can surely detect such type of domains.
so..what is the perfect solution to avoid these types of attacks other than the obvious updated av, firewall and OS??
There no such perfect solution, because no system in the world is 100% secure even if you have all those. Still if we know what’s happening around the world we can still be in the safer zone. Well I believe so
